Heat Advisory

Main content start

Heat Advisories monitored by the National Weather Service (NWS) are reviewed on a continual basis by Stanford University Department of Public Safety (SUDPS). Per NWS, a heat Advisory is issued when the heat index value is expected to reach 100 to 104 degrees within the a 12-24 hour spand. A Heat Advisory may be issued for lower criteria if it is early in the season or during a multi-day heat wave. During summer months, notifications may be posted at The Dish entrances and on this website to prepare for warmer weather and possible closure due to excessive heat.
